“Believe in cures more than taking drugs”.

This should be ingrained in every individual’s mind, as this will eventually chalk-out solutions towards longevity and healthy life. Being born in a Punjabi family, I was privileged with the goodness of Ghee, Butter, Milk, other dairy products. All these are considered as fats which people eradicate from their meals. However, these are some of the essential healthy fat, which provides warmth to the body and moreover makes our skin healthy.

Healthy body leads to a healthy mind. Plus, a healthy individual may confront the world with inner strength and delight in a plethora of joys and pleasures. Every year on April 7th, World Health Day (WHD) commemorates the creation of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948. Every year, a theme is chosen to highlight a global priority area of public health concern. This year, the theme for the day is “Our planet, Our Health”.

With this thought in mind, the objective for this year is to focus global attention on the health of our planet and the people who live on it. “In the face of pandemic, a polluted planet, and rising diseases such as cancer, asthma, and heart disease, WHO will focus global attention on urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy and foster a movement to create societies focused on well-being on World Health Day 2022,” the WHO wrote on its official website.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 13 million people die each year due to preventable environmental causes around the world. This includes the climate problem, which is the world’s single greatest health concern. The climatic emergency is also a health emergency.

While there is little that ordinary people can do to change climatic conditions, everyone can improve their health by eating a healthy diet. When we think about environmental variables that can harm our health, pollution is the first thing that comes to mind. As a consequence, eating a diet rich in foods that can help reduce air pollution may be a smart idea for everyone.

Henceforth, I take a pledge to work towards my health and planet this year by exercising regularly, inculcate good food habits, culminating negative habits like drugs, alcohol and smoke from degrading my soul. Apart from it, I would even cover short distances on foot and reduce the utilization of electronic gadgets which harm the soul and planet as well.

Make a promise to yourself and your family to live a healthy and happy life on World Health Day 2022. And initiate by eating a balanced diet.
